i toyota rally driver said that i must use bp visco 3000 20w/50 wich is a normal oil, ive been running that since. my 4age revs 9000rpm in every gymkhana and for 4 years that engine never missed a beat. hope this will help.

since my fist 4age which is ST ive been using mineral oil 20w50 (Mobil) every 5,000 kms.
never had any problem with it.

i think you have to chek the comp(if you can emission test),then see the miles on it,then how you treat your engine,if you race the engine and the weather.
then chek the manual for early and late model oil recomendation : sf or sf/cc certified
and then depending in the weather if it is extreme, you can choose your favorite one.

Been using Motul Turbolight 4100 10W40 for a year then switched to Motul Synergie 6100 10W40.
No noticeable oil reduction during oil changes and the engine runs pretty smooth. Currently using Synergie and found that the oil temp dropped drastically... feels as if i've installed an engine oil cooler.

Do you have the std twincam radiator on your ZE....and no oil cooler?
Run a thicker oil cos the ZE tends to run very hot...The best oil that I ever used in the ZE was Castrol Furtron but it is not available anymore....it was a 20W60 grade.
Never use fully synthetic without an oil cooler on the ZE...she will eat it up in no time....
