Information   

This stunning 2002 MR2 was the weapon of choice for Mr2ZZGE. The standard Toyota 1800cc 1zzfe engine and gearbox was removed and transplanted with a unit from a RunX Rsi. This new high revving 1800cc engine with VVTL-i (variable valve timing and lift intelligence) was sourced all the way from Durban (Thanks C-Chris-zn). The 2zzge engine swap was completed by Mr2zzge and TwincamSam over 2 weekends. The car runs off a Perfect Power XMS-L management system and was wired and tuned by Mr2zzge. All car tuning has taken place on the road with only power runs being done on a dynometer. Even though the car is still in constant development, the project has churned out remarkable results. It is rock solid reliability with amazing acceleration due to the light weight of the MR2 and the high power output of the 2ZZGE engine. We will keep you all updated with the progress of the little MR2 as we go along. The cars goal is to break under a 13.7 sec run on a quarter mile and by the driving feel of the little monster...it is definitely on its way to achieving that feat!

Total conversion cost if around R 25,000

Car value at R 150,000.00

Make me a offer and I will think about it

You can pick up a low millage Mr2 for abour R 130,000 or less. On autotrader there one for \
R 99,000. Try find one with a blown engine!

My advantage is that I did all the work in house with some handy work from Sam and the air gun.

Its the ultimate conversion for street and track.

it's my first time on this forum. well done to the owner of the MR 2 , i just sold my 20valve and bought a 2001 MR2 (silver) ,
it's standard and slow ../../extensions/custom_smilies_2/img1/cheerful . should i go 20valve (black top ) or- x  Rsi like u did.the kak part is that my car has a new motor fitted by toyota and is doing +- 12 000 kms, it was done by the previous owner. and were can i get after market spares for this car toyota is killing me ../../extensions/custom_smilies_2/img1/angry , i need right rear STUB AXEL BUSH, agents want R 2 500 for it as it has to come from japan, and it costs 20 bucks to make. well thanks for your help guys , later ../../extensions/custom_smilies_2/img1/cheerful

Congrats, you can put any motor you like in, its easy. I have a ppe branch for your motor. It has good power gains and a drop in k&n Filter. As for spares, try monkeywrenchracing.com.

Toyota is overpriced on most of the spares. So importing works out cheeper.
