Looks good, but how do we know if it is compatible with our factory fitted system?
Has anyone installed this cable to one of our local toyotas?

Re: IPOD CONNECTION FOR XRSI

Just found out from Image audio, they have a product from Jensen that hooks an ipod up to the the standard runx deck,
cost R2500 and apparently has good sound quality..

I am designing a unit to work with the OEM head-unit. I just need some time to get it working with the 6cd head-unit as it works well with the single cd head-unit. This unit will have an AUX input compatible to all portable MP3 players & IPods. Pricing will be approximately R500.

Sounds good, when do you think you'll have your cable ready to hit the market?

Re: IPOD CONNECTION FOR XRSI

I tested it on my 6cd head-unit & its working fine. I should have a few kits available by end of November. Unfortunately this kit is not a DIY kit & needs to be installed by me. The head-unit will have to be disassembled in order to tap the wires from the AUX adaptor to the head-units PCB.

Unfortunately this experiment did not last long. Having a bit of ''teething'' problems that needs to be rectified.

watsup gents,

after searching hi and lo i finally found an ipod interface that does work with the indash 6 cd changer that comes standard on the runx. The Gateway 100 made by a company called Dension. It is imported by a company called SMAC, costs R1650. I fitted it myself, u can track up and down from the deck and also change folders.. Very nice..most of the sound fitment centres including image audio said these cables do not work, but i tried it out myself and it does..

That's a really good price coz I contacted them some time back & was quoted R2100 + VAT.
