I bought a tube of Autosol the weekend - it works well but duznt remove all stubborn grease, brake dust marks, etc.

Soema took off the wheels and cleaned the whole mag (outside with Autosol & Kleen Green; inside with Kleen Green & OMO ../../extensions/custom_smilies_2/img1/tongue)

Looks better now but the grooves btwn the spokes is a B1TCH to clean

Mike: "I don't have one."
Marcus: "What do you mean you don't have one? Eighty thousand dollars for this car and you don't got no damn cup holder?"
Mike: "It's a hundred and five thousand dollars and this happens to be one of the fastest production cars on the planet. Zero to sixty in four seconds sweetie. This is a limited edition."
Marcus: "You're damn right it's limited. No cup holder, no back seat, this is a shiny d*** with two chairs in it. I guess we the balls just dragging the f*** along!"

Butter??? dude, butter is oil based... if anything, it will sit in all the small pit marks and collect more dirt... lol.

Re: Cleaning 20V rims

Paraffin or Engine cleaner applied with a paint brush works best.

Re: Cleaning 20V rims

I think our friend Avesh got things abit mixed up with the butter concept.

The old trick is when driving long distances, smear butter (or marg, dont matter) on ur bonnet lip, fenders, bumpers, rims, ur whole car if you want too. This keeps the stone chips and bug stains to a minimum. Making it much easier to wash off to a clean car, as the butter makes a fatty film coating.

This works! but makes the car look very untidy.

Re: Cleaning 20V rims

If anybody in durban needs to clean their aluminium mags (not high polished or chrome), I have this crackerlacking chemical.
It's acid based.
It's removes most crap.
All you need do is spray it on and work it into the hard to reach places to lossen the dirt, wash it off properly, and bob's your uncle.
It not only cleans but gives the rims a brilliant glow.
SABS approved too.
tell me if you're interested.
