Topic: b16 vs 20v

I know there is alot of stories about this that people post in their racing tales, but what is the truth,if both is stock.(rsi/rxi,X)

It strange to me that there is no sticky on this. ../../extensions/custom_smilies_2/img1/sad

Re: b16 vs 20v

lol, wish people would  ../../extensions/custom_smilies_2/img1/sad  answer my questions..

Re: b16 vs 20v

I pesonally think stock for stock the 20v 5speed is da fastest till 140. The X definately at top faster. When modified its a different story. O well, that's my opinion.

I somewhat disagree with you on that Guseman

When i still had my '03 X RSi (Stock), I raced a '98 RSi (Chip & Exhaust) and we were so to say neck and neck till i hit 4th, then it was game over as the X just starts opening up a gap. ../../extensions/custom_smilies_2/img1/neutral

I personally think that stock for stock the X is Stronger from start to finish.

i'm speaking of the B16 and 20v

with the X, the honda should be neck on neck till 3rd and then the X will fly away

Chiped 20v?

Stock for stock , x vs 20v 5 speed - 20v in front up to late 3rd

It all depends on driver and how healthy the 20v motor is

Cool Guys

@ Diesel: sorry for the Misunderstanding.
@ Leegov: this is just my opinion & like you said, yes it does depend on the Driver

Really...??  My "Real Life" testing showed some other interesting results.....I remember I used to actually keep count on how many B16's I strapped a few years back when I first got to CT......I lost count somewhere in the 40's...check the older forum post a few years old. This 20v has yet to have a B16 run infront of it.......and that's the fact my friend....on the streets!...Im not stock though....far from it.....but I used to run infront when stock too. U have your opinion.....I have my experiences.....

let’s do this buddy, less talking and more action, give me a time and a place and I will be there, I have a couple Hondas that you can try and strap

Also dont get off topic and start getting defensive...... We have no beef with the Tecs.....We have many Tecs on 9000 and in the crew....and some of our Tecs are insanely fast ( Life Begins at 1,5 Bar)   ../../extensions/custom_smilies_2/img1/devil

back to the topic...

Stock for stock I think 20v Vs Vtec will always be a tight one with the winner being the car that is in better condition or engine that is a bit more loose. In 1997 CAR mag tested the Rsi 20v with a 0-100 of 7.71 and top speed of 207. The ballarde Tec had a slower 0-100 but top speed of 209. Civic Tec topped out at 200 and 0-100 somewhere in the low 8s.

Stock for stock with a XRSi....Even if the Tec is one of the strongest bone stock ones it will probably only stick with the X until end of 3rd....much like a stock 20v......once the X hits 4th its game over.....(Ceteris Paribus)

See attached Scanned Article Road Test comparrison from Drive Magazine..Rsi Vs Vtec Vs 200IE Vs 200STi..... 20v was fastest from all in 0-100 and over 1km.

May the Lift be with you all.

That my friend is a epic comprehension fail , this tread is about stock vs. stock.
Don’t even want to bring up the topic of strapping 20v, been there done that, will be at the Mutuba drags next month, you are most welcome to come try.

Also don’t get off topic and start getting defensive...... We have no beef with the Tecs.....We have many Tecs on 9000 and in the crew....and some of our Tecs are insanely fast ( Life Begins at 1,5 Bar)

Please EXPLAIN TO ME FOR THE LOVE OF LIFE ! how does this come across as being defensive, no beef, WTF sounds like I’m back in primary school. 2ZZ not for the first time has mentioned how strong his car is, and I have asked him for a run or two, not the first time either.
We will run when his car is ready, got nothing to do with you!

Re: b16 vs 20v

WTH? This forum is starting to sound like TTCC again....

We here to chat about cars, ideas around cars etc. not to argue about which is faster.

Firstly, we all should know by now that no matter how fast your car is, there is something faster out there.
2nd,  there are not very many stock 20v and vtecs left around
3rd, its too late to compare those now. all have differing wear and tear and have been maintained different. so u cant compare as they came from the factory.
